Samsung Fridge Freezers With SmartThings

Samsung's Family Hub fridge combines an oversized 389-litre fridge with a an 225-litre freezer. It's a big American-style model that has high-quality temperature control, as well as an impressive slate of smart features.

It's customizable thanks to removable panels which allows you to design one that is perfect for your collection of tie-dye Crocs and matte black Rick Owens clothing.

All-Round Cooling

In refrigerators that have All Round Cooling, separate cooling circuits can help keep your food fresher. In conventional refrigerators, a single cooling evaporator cools both the freezer and refrigerator compartments. This can result in your food drying out because the low-humidity air from your refrigerator is pumped into. This can cause food to taste bland and unpleasant.

With All-Round Cooling, each shelf has multiple vents that circulate cool air. This helps to maintain a consistent temperature even if you shut and open the door of your fridge.

Optimal Fresh Zone keeps fish and meats fresher for up to twice as long as in conventional fridges, and without freezing them. This feature is an exciting option for anyone who enjoys cooking but doesn't like the hassle of thawing out frozen fish or meat.

All Round Cooling uses an aluminum cooling plate at the back of the fridge to hold the cold air and prevent it from escaping when you open the fridge door. It also reduces the need for power defrosting saving you time and money.

Samsung refrigerators feature one of the top ice dispensers we've tested. The patent-pending Twist Ice Maker dispensing large cubes is dispensed with an easy twist and can be kept below the fridge when not in use. This gives you more space on the shelves, and allows you to easily locate your preferred beverages and snacks.

With Reversible Doors You can select the direction that your fridge or freezer opens. This lets you easily accommodate your fridge into the layout of your kitchen, while also keeping your fridge tidy and neat.

Samsung's Family Hub is the central control point for your SmartThings connected home with a large touchscreen on your refrigerator. It can show a live video feed from your smart doorbell, order groceries in accordance with an automated inventory or suggest recipes that make use of what you have in stock.

Samsung refrigerators have drawers that flex at the bottom, providing an intelligent storage solution.  fridge freezer samsung  make it easy to store taller items such as pizza trays and cans of drinks. They can be flipped back when not in use, and folded flat to free up space. This is an excellent option for those who love to bake and cook but are limited in their fridge space.

FlexZone

The Samsung FlexZone side by side refrigerator freezer features a unique 3-zone system, which allows you to add an extra freezer drawer or refrigerator compartment. This flexibility allows you customize the fridge freezer to suit your storage requirements and needs. The FlexZone module allows you to upgrade your fridge to a bigger or smaller size by incorporating an extra FlexZone.

The fridge has an elegant design that is sure to complement any kitchen design. The stainless steel finish is elegant and durable. It also has an anti-fingerprint coating to keep the surface looking brand new. The refrigerator comes with an external water and ice dispenser, making it even more convenient.

This fridge comes with an FlexZone bottom-right compartment that can be converted into a freezer or refrigerator. This gives you extra freezer space for items like ice cream bags of frozen vegetables and meat or fish. It also performed well in our tests, however the 21.5-inch touchscreen's bloated apps and the absence of voice control or SmartThings integration are a missed opportunity.

The remainder of the fridge has plenty of room to store food items, including two crisper trays and a middle FlexZone drawer that can be made to fit your needs. The latter lets you select between five different settings for the fridge freezer drawer, based on your needs. These include the freeze setting that is compatible with the freezer settings and the soft freeze setting for wine or deli tray, a meat and fish setting and an alcohol setting for snacks, drinks and other items that are frequently accessed.

This Samsung FlexZone side by side refrigerator is perfect for families who want to have a refrigerator and a freezer in one. It's a little less spacious than high-end French door models, however it has plenty of useful features and is an excellent option for those with little space in their kitchens.

Samsung Fridge Freezers are also very energy efficient due to their digital inverter technology. This technology regulates the temperature inside the fridge to ensure it doesn't change too frequently and helps keep food fresher for longer. Its energy efficiency has earned it the ENERGY STAR Certification.

SmartThings

SmartThings may not be as powerful as Alexa or Google Assistant however, you can still add a lot more smart devices to it. It's also integrated into Samsung smartphones TVs, tablets and tablets - plus some fridges. It might be enough for some people, especially if they have multiple Samsung products.

The SmartThings app is well-rounded and polished, with an "if x is greater than y, then y" automation section that is very effective. You can set up things such as an alarm that goes off when sensors for water leaks detect the presence of a flood, or turn on the lights when your phone detects that you're at home. It can also control your refrigerator if you link it to a smart outlet, although we've seen mixed results with that.

You'll need a hub in order to use SmartThings, which isn't expensive. Samsung makes a few different ones - including the SmartThings Station, which you can attach to your router, and uses as an nightlight. There's also a cheaper SmartThings Hub Dongle that can support Z-Wave and Zigbee and Thread with support in the near future.

Once you've connected your smart fridge to your phone and hub, it is very simple to use. SmartThings lets you control your refrigerator from anywhere. Notifications are sent to your smartphone when the refrigerator is closed or opened. You can set up schedules as well as set the temperature and even create reminders.

SmartThings is a founding member of the Home Connectivity Alliance, which is working to make major home appliances from a range of manufacturers interoperable. In the near future you can control your Samsung washer/dryer, Electrolux oven, and LG TV using the same app.

SmartThings is not as popular as Alexa or Google Assistant but it does include some major names on its list, including Arlo Nest, Belkin, and Lifx. It's also compatible with Matter, an open protocol that allows devices to be paired regardless of brand. The most effective option for people is to combine Alexa and Google Assistant.

Family Hub

A fridge freezer isn't much more modern than this: it has a 21-inch touchscreen in the door, and comes with a host of intelligent features. You can access entertainment apps, write notes for family members (think big digital version of a notebook that's stuck to the fridge) Check the weather and more, all thanks to Samsung's voice-activated assistant, Bixby.

The touchscreen allows you to manage recipes and food. You can add ingredients from an app and check out what's inside your fridge using internal cameras. You can create grocery lists while on the go and monitor food items to check the expiration date. You can also use an app for recipes that will give you instructions while you cook.

Samsung has spent an entire year reworking the Family Hub fridges based on feedback from customers. One key change is that you can now create different profiles for every member of your household so they can tailor the apps and information they have access to. It's not quite as good as having Alexa integration integrated into your fridge but it's an improvement on last year's model.

Besides its features for entertainment and grocery management, Family Hub also acts as an interface for Samsung's SmartThings platform. It can onboard Matter-compatible devices, like lights or plugs and allow you to use the touchscreen to control them.

Samsung's fridge has been around for a few years now and, although it offers a fair bit of functionality, the touchscreen smarts aren't an essential feature for many people. They're more of a fun and somewhat frivolous feature than anything else.

This may change with the release of more software updates, but at present these models are the best for those who wish to have the most complete connected refrigerator they can get. If you aren't one of them, you can always pick up a cheaper model without the Family Hub to save some money. If you have many smart home devices that you need to control from one screen, or you like the idea of a refrigerator equipped with a large touchscreen, it might be worth the investment.
